West Anniston Foundation Scholarship Recipients 2012/2013

Rajean Beard
- Ms. Beard is a graduate of Anniston High School and plans to attend Alabama A&M University where she plans to major in biology. Ms. Beard’s vision for the West Anniston community is “to help others become successful and get their education.”

 Codarious Cooper- Mr. Cooper is a graduate of Saks High School and plans to attend college and major in biology. Mr. Cooper’s vision for the West Anniston community is for it “to be known as a great environment for successful young people, and not an environment for violent and uneducated people.”

Amesha Crawford- Ms. Crawford is a graduate of Anniston High School and plans to attend Jacksonville State University where she plans to major in English language arts. Ms. Crawford vision for the West Anniston community is that kids do not have to be witnesses to domestic violence, “waking up abruptly to an abusive altercation in next room."
 
Vanesha Crawford- Ms. Crawford is a graduate of Anniston High School and plans to attend Jacksonville State University where she plans to major in Elementary Education.  Ms. Crawford’s planned “purpose as a future educator is to pass recent and future knowledge and skills on the children of my community.”

Khadeshia Kelly- Ms. Kelly is a graduate of Saks High School and plans to obtain a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. Ms. Kelly hopes are “one day open up a nursing practice and to be able to teach other nurses and future nurses so they can be successful in their field of study.”
Tiara Fields- Ms. Fields attends Jacksonville State University where she majors in Social Work. Her vision for the West Anniston community is “to bring pride back to citizens by allowing them opportunities to feel better about themselves and their community.”

Ysatis E. Haynes- Ms. Haynes attends Talladega College where she majors in Nursing. Her vision for the West Anniston community is “to promote, educate and counsel the people on a healthy and productive lifestyle.”

Shacoria Ramsey- Ms. Ramsey is a graduate of Anniston High School and plans to attend Gadsden State Community College where she plans to major in nursing. Her vision for the West Anniston community is implementing “more activities geared for youth.”

Amber D. Smith- Ms. Smith is a graduate of Sparkman High School and plans to attend UAB where she plans to major in business with a minor in public relations. Ms. Smith’s vision for the West Anniston community is to “establish a non-profit in the area to serve the community with tutoring services, ACT prep classes and assistance with financial aid.”

Teddre D. Williams- Mr. Williams is a graduate of The Donoho School and plans to attend Birmingham Southern University where he plans to obtain a degree in engineering. Mr. Williams’s vision for the West Anniston community is to “revitalize the area by tearing down the dilapidated homes, rebuilding nice affordable housing with beautiful landscapes, building a playground for area kids.”
